Philip Weingord is the Managing Principal and CEO of Seer Capital Management, which he founded in 2008. Mr. Weingord has overall management responsibility for Seer Capital including all investment decisions, strategic planning, and business development for the firm. Prior to Seer Capital, he was Head of Global Markets Americas for Deutsche Bank. His responsibilities included all Deutsche Bank's Fixed Income and Derivatives activities in the U.S. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Weingord was Head of Global Securitized Products, which included Asset-Backed Securities, CLO/CDOs and Mortgage-Backed Securities. Mr. Weingord was on the Board of Directors of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. from 2004 to 2008 and a member of the Deutsche Bank Global Markets Executive Committee from 2001 to 2008. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in March 2000, Mr. Weingord was Global Co-Head of Securitized Products at Credit Suisse First Boston, which he joined in 1986. Mr. Weingord holds a B.S. in Computer Science from SUNY-Albany.
Richard d'Albert is a Principal and Co-CIO of Seer Capital Management and co-heads the Firm's Investment Committee. He has had an extensive career working with a broad variety of credit and securitized products. Before joining Seer, Mr. d'Albert was Global Head of Structured Credit at Deutsche Bank, which included the Securitized Products Group, the CLO/CDO Group, ABS Correlation Trading and Longevity Derivatives. Prior to that, Mr. d'Albert was Global Co-head of Deutsche Bank's Securitized Products Group which included Credit and Conduit Products, Special Situations, Principal Trading, and ABS Trading. From 2002 through 2004 he headed the Securitized Products Group for the Americas. He was a member of the Global Credit Trading Management Committee at Deutsche Bank from 2004. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2000, he was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and a senior member of the Securitized Products Group. He is a former member of the Management Committee and an Advisory Board member of the American Securitization Forum. Mr. d'Albert holds a B.A. from Williams College.
Tony Barkan is a Principal and Portfolio Manager of Seer Capital responsible for all CMBS investments and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. Prior to joining Seer, he was the Head of Sailfish Structured Investment Management (SIM) which oversaw Sailfish's issuance of managed structured investments. Subsequently, Mr. Barkan managed a profitable ABS, MBS and corporate credit portfolio and assisted in the unwind of the distressed securitized products portfolios of the Sailfish hedge fund. Prior to forming SIM in 2006, Mr. Barkan created a fixed-income platform at Harbert Management Corporation, focusing on MBS, ABS, CDO and Corporate credit markets. From 2001-2003 Mr. Barkan ran the structured credit business at the Clinton Group. Prior to joining the Clinton Group, Mr. Barkan was the Senior Portfolio Manager for MBS and ABS at Forstmann-Leff, and worked as a trader at Salomon Brothers, Goldman Sachs' J. Aron Group and ED&F Man. Mr. Barkan holds a B.A. from Princeton.
Michael Lamont is a Principal and Portfolio Manager of Seer Capital responsible for all CLO and ABS investments and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. Prior to joining Seer he co-headed the Credit Structuring Group at Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2000, Mr. Lamont worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Asset Finance Group and structured balance sheet CDOs and manufactured housing and aircraft securitizations. Mr. Lamont has also worked as a trader for the Kessler Asher Group at the CBOE. Mr. Lamont holds a a B.A. from Rice University, an M.S. in Statistics from New York University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Chris Schoen is a Principal and Portfolio Manager of Seer Capital responsible for all RMBS investments and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. He most recently co-headed the Mortgage Trading Group at Credit Suisse with specific responsibilities for Sub-Prime, Second Lien, HELOC, Reverse, and Scratch and Dent Mortgages as well as oversight of the Loan Financing Group. The Mortgage Trading Group was responsible for the purchase of loans (bidding, due diligence, and settlement) and the disposition of loans through either securitization or whole loan sale. Additionally, Mr. Schoen was responsible for capital markets for SPS (the Credit Suisse non-performing loan servicer) and Lime (a Credit Suisse-owned mortgage originator). Prior to Credit Suisse/DLJ Mr. Schoen worked at Smith Barney, PaineWebber, Prudential Securities, and Deloitte and Touche in similar capacities, including the securitization of tax liens, sub-prime and non-prime auto loans, credit card and lease receivables. Mr. Schoen holds a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College.
Karen Weaver, CFA, is the Head of Market Strategy and Research of Seer Capital Management and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. Karen was one of the first analysts to forecast the subprime crisis and its impact on home prices, the economy and the financial system. Ms. Weaver was until February 2010 Managing Director and the Global Head of Securitization Research at Deutsche Bank in New York. While at Deutsche Bank she also was the Regional Head for the firm's equity, fixed income and economics research. Karen joined Deutsche Bank from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) in 2000, where she ran ABS, MBS, CMBS and CDO research. Prior to joining CSFB, Karen was a portfolio manager specializing in securitization, and was an equity investor in the first non-government mortgage securitization. Karen is a graduate of Temple University, where she studied Statistics and Economics as an undergraduate, and Finance in the M.B.A. program. She is also a CFA Charterholder. Karen is a contributing author to numerous books on mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, and has appeared frequently on Bloomberg News, CNBC, the ABC Evening News, NBC Dateline, NPR, PBS, and YahooFinance. Karen and her teams have earned many industry accolades, including first place rankings in Institutional Investor, Global Investor, Euromoney and Credit Magazine.
Andrew Peisch is a Managing Director and Head of Business Development at Seer Capital Management and a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. He was most recently Co-Head of Structured Finance Banking at Jefferies & Co. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Head of Structured Credit Products Banking and Origination for the Americas at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he was head of Structured Finance at Merrill Lynch & Co., with postings in New York, London, and Hong Kong. Prior to joining Merrill, Mr. Peisch worked in the Mortgage Finance Department at Credit Suisse First Boston. He has a B.A. in History with honors distinction from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Richard Kim is the Chief Operating Officer of Seer Capital Management and is a member of the Firm's Investment Committee. He was most recently Managing Director in Deutsche Bank's Credit Structuring Group. As part of the Credit Structuring Group, his responsibilities encompassed structuring and marketing distressed structured product investment funds, bank balance sheet CLOs and other asset classes. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in April 2000, Mr. Kim worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Asset Finance Group. Mr. Kim holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College.
Jack Kline is the Chief Information Officer of Seer Capital. Most recently, he was a principal of Moment Analytics, which he co-founded. At Moment, Mr. Kline was responsible for developing business process applications for the firm’s clients. Prior to founding Moment Analytics, Mr. Kline was the Head of Back Office Development and a Senior Front Office Application Developer for Amaranth Advisors. At Amaranth, he developed all of the back office technology necessary for the management company to become independent from its founding seed capital partner. Prior to working at Amaranth, Mr. Kline was the Head of Capital Markets Technology and Development at Tullett & Tokyo Liberty plc. From 1993 to 2000, Mr. Kline was a Senior Commodity Development Manager at Chase Manhattan Bank, and he began his career at CRT in Fixed Income Support and Development in 1990. Mr. Kline holds a B.S. from University of Notre Dame in Professional Studies (pre-medical) with a minor in Computer Science.
Walt Tsin is a Director and Chief Financial Officer of Seer Capital Management. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tsin was a Senior Manager at Rothstein Kass where he led audit teams, consulted on all aspects of hedge fund accounting, regulation and strategy. His specializations include audit and tax services for a variety of investment company vehicles. At Rothstein Kass, Mr. Tsin was also involved in tax planning, advising clients on organizational structures and various compliance issues. Earlier in his career he worked as an assistant controller at Avenue Capital Management and at Ernst & Young as a senior accountant. Mr. Tsin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and earned a Bachelor of Science in business Economics from Syracuse University.
Andrew Dominus is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Seer Capital Management. He has a broad range of transactional and regulatory experience, having spent 12 years at KBC Financial Products (a broker/dealer with at its peak over 1000 employees and offices in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo) before joining Seer. Mr. Dominus was General Counsel during the last three years of his tenure at KBC FP, responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance aspects of KBC FP's business. Mr. Dominus started his career at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, where his practice focused on securitizations and derivative products. He joined UBS in 1997 to support their equity derivatives and fixed income securities groups until he left UBS in 1998 to join DE Shaw & Co., where he supported its equity derivatives group. That group was part of the unit sold by DE Shaw & Co. to KBC Bank in 1999, which unit became KBC FP. Mr. Dominus graduated from Dartmouth College in 1986 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature, and received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1991.
Jared Work is Chief Risk Officer of Seer Capital Management. Most recently, he was responsible for analyzing and trading Agency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities and derivatives at Seer Capital. Prior to joining Seer, Jared traded Agency Specified Pools and MBS Options at Barclays Capital. Mr. Work was previously employed at Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and Lehman Brothers where he performed trading roles for a range of Agency MBS assets in the securitized products universe. Mr. Work graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance.
David O'Brien is a Managing Director at Seer Capital Management responsible for analyzing and trading the Residential Mortgage-Backed Security investments in the portfolio. Mr. O'Brien was most recently a trader focusing on non-agency mortgage credit at Carlyle Blue Wave Partners. Prior to that, he traded mortgage-backed securities at Amaranth Advisors. Mr. O'Brien previously worked at Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank where he performed a variety of structuring roles for a range of assets in the securitized products universe. Mr. O'Brien holds a B.S. in Finance from Boston College and a MBA from Columbia University.
Richard Parkus is a Managing Director at Seer Capital, and is a member of the firm's CMBS investments team. Richard has worked in a variety of areas in securitized products for more than twenty years, including CMBS, RMBS and CDOs. Prior to joining Seer, Mr. Parkus was an Executive Director and Head of CMBS Strategy at Morgan Stanely. From 1998 to 2010, he was Head of CMBS Research at Deutsche Bank since. During 1994-1998, Mr. Parkus worked for Lehman Brothers in London as an fixed income exotic options trader. He joined Lehman Brothers in 1992 as Co-Head of Quantitative Mortgage Research. Mr. Parkus received an AB summa cum laude (Economics), and an AM (Mathematics) from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, where he was in the Ph.D. program.
Terry Lanson is a Managing Director at Seer Capital Management responsible for analyzing and trading European ABS, bank regulatory capital trades, small business loan backed ABS, and esoteric assets. He joined Seer Capital in 2008 after two years at Citi in London, where he was responsible for origination, structuring, and execution of financing and principal investments in esoteric structured credit related assets. He spent nine years at Deutsche Bank in London and New York, where he was responsible for bank capital management transactions for Deutsche Bank and third parties as well as other complex CDO transactions. He also structured and executed securitizations of assets ranging from consumer loans to corporate loans to trade receivables to commercial real estate loans for clients in the US and various European jurisdictions. Mr. Lanson holds a B.A. from Harvard College.
Bogomil Ivanov is a Managing Director at Seer Capital Management responsible for analyzing and trading CMBS, CLO, consumer ABS, and esoteric assets. He headed the financial engineering team of the CLO/CDO Group at Deutsche Bank from 2003 and 2008 with responsibility for developing and implementing the analytics platform used in the cash flow structuring , rating and credit analysis of newly originated CLO/CDOs. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2000, Mr. Ivanov worked at Credit Suisse First Boston structuring balance sheet CDOs and legal fee receivable securitizations. Mr. Ivanov holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Yale University and a B.A. in Accounting/Finance from Angelo State University.
Abhayad Kamat is a Director at Seer Capital Management responsible for analyzing and trading ABS, CLO / CDOs and esoteric assets. Prior to Seer Capital, Mr. Kamat was a Director at Hudson Advisors, the asset management arm of Lone Star Funds. There he jointly oversaw a team responsible for the day-to-day asset management of Lone Star's investments in distressed CDOs and RMBS. Prior to joining Hudson Advisors in 2008, Mr. Kamat was a Vice President in the CLO/CDO Group at Deutsche Bank Securities from 2002. He also previously worked in the Asset Securitization Group at Barclays Capital. Mr. Kamat holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Finance degree from the University of Mumbai. He received a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
Alexandra B. Vargas is a Vice President of Marketing & Investor Relations at Seer Capital Management. Previously, she was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank's Latin American Debt Capital Markets Team in New York. Mrs. Vargas holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in Finance & Economics and an MBA from London Business School.
